There is no 100% assurance for successful results obtain from freezing eggs in respect of pregnancy and live birth. One of the main cause is every individual woman have their unique physiological structure and their response differs with increasing of age.

Factors affecting egg freezing success rate

One of the major factors which have a direct impact on egg freezing success rate is the age of the egg. It has found that the success rate is high (41.5%) with the age under 35 years. At the age between 35–37 years, this success rate become 31.9%, while at the age of 38–40 years, the success rate turns to 22.1%, gradually it is going down to 12.4% for women 41–42, and 12.4% for women 41–42. This same success rate women can achieve by using the IVF cycle.

Can freezing and thawing eggs during IVF effect in pregnancy rate - is one of the concerns for users. But many research papers had shown that the advancement of medical science overcome this issue. Using an advanced technique to freeze and thaw eggs don’t affect pregnancy. Means, women at 35 years of age have the same chance of getting pregnant i.e. 41.5% for both using an IVF cycle using fresh eggs. Or she freezes her eggs at 35 years of age and uses them later. In certain cases, it has also found that better pregnancy rates with frozen eggs than a typical IVF cycle because most women undergo IVF usually have fertility issues which may not be associated with healthy egg freezers.

In most of the fertility treatment including IVF cycle with fresh egg maternal age is a big concern of success rate of the process, but the provided percentage of the mathematical expression clear the age of the egg is primary factor than the maternal age in case of frozen egg users, which is a positive point of egg freezing. Young healthy eggs give a better chance of pregnancy at the “advanced maternal age”, the collected eggs may be obtained from a donor or intended mother can be her own “ egg donor” by opting egg freezing at her early age.

Why younger frozen eggs give a better success rate?

It is also important to mention that egg quality and quantity are the more important parameters to achieve a better success rate. Women who opt to freeze their eggs at an early age (with35 years), then the chances of genetically abnormal egg production is less. Furthermore, the response of egg freezing treatment is better at an early age and produces more egg in one cycle.

Number of eggs require to freeze

The number of eggs frozen in the egg freezing technique is also important to achieve a success rate. Researchers found that women at 35 years of age achieve only a 15% success rate by freezing only five eggs, whereas this success rate is increasing to 61% for freezing ten eggs, and 85% for freezing fifteen eggs at the same age limit.

The new research result published in the Human Reproduction journal reported that 70% to 90% success rate can be achieved within the women's age within 35 years with freeze 10-20 eggs.
